About

Who are we:

  • I’m Natalia, I work from home and  when not writing this blog home-educate my son,  and also  some letterpress and book arts.
  • Willem (who is the real star of this show) is a home educated seven year old who is curious about just about anything and has a wide range of interests.
  • Steve is the father of our household and makes up the trio. He works outside the home and sometimes his work takes him away to interesting places, but he is still a very important and active member of our little trio.

History:

This website started life as a blog Let’s Do Something Different! which was about our family travels. I have decided to write about more than just travel, and wanted to add a few things to my blog such as video and some cool widgets I couldn’t have on a free WordPress blog. Hence this site was born. Let’s Do Something Different.com was taken, so I had to choose a new name. Hope you like it. All the posts from my previous blog are on here, along with some new material.

The fine print:

I have copied (with permission) the fine print from the most excellent FIMBY website (check it out) and made a few changes to reflect my own blog.

I do not derive any income or other rewards from writing this blog, except for maybe the promotion of  our photography blog. I don’t participate in any affiliate programs, except for getting the odd Amazon gift certificate if you click through on the books I talk about and then buy them (I am changing all my links to LibraryThing, so no affiliate links anymore),  so if I send you somewhere with a link it has nothing to do with wanting you to buy a product. I have never been paid to review anything. If you’d like to me to review something (because you think I might like it and you’d like to promote it) please contact me. These are my product and book reviews. Any product, book, company or person I endorse on this blog is because I really like said product, book, company or person and have nothing to personally gain from the endorsement. I am decidedly anti big business, large corporations, consumerism, greed and advertising in general. Having said that you will still find our family shopping at Ocado and Amazon, as well as the local  stores.
